Foundations of Experiential Therapy

“Foundations of Experiential Therapy: A Handbook for Experiential Therapists” was written by Tori as a concise exploration of the basic tasks, skills, and steps that are core to experiential work. It provides an overarching framework to assist beginners in their efforts to work more experientially, as well as to help more experienced therapists in their integration between various experiential models. Although the framework is amenable to the integration of any experiential approach, the techniques Tori outlines draw mainly from IFS, AEDP, and coherence therapy. The goal of these techniques are to help therapists foster moments of breakthrough for the client, as made possible by memory reconsolidation (i.e. updating) of core neural networks / unconscious beliefs held by the brain / unconscious mind. While it was created to accompany Tori's core training course (“Minding the Heart”), it can serve well as a standalone resource.
